National Freedom Party (NFP)
Founded: 2011.
The National Freedom Party is a South African party whose constitution was adopted at its first elective national conference in December 2011; its 2019 national election manifesto, "Giving Power Back to the People", sets out seven priority areas: economic development and job creation, good governance, rural development and accelerated land reform, traditional leadership, safety and security, education, and health. The manifesto commits the party to keeping state-owned enterprises such as SAA and Eskom out of private hands, to accelerating the National Health Insurance Fund, to fee-free higher education, and to tightening border control. It also proposes a referendum on the death penalty for violent crimes.
